What Is a Banner in Microsoft Teams? When you receive a banner notification on your computer screen, it appears as a pop-up at the bottom or top right of your screen.

When a message and mention is sent to you, or when someone likes your message, or reacts to your message in a group or individual chat, you will receive the same type of notification as well.

A banner notification can also be triggered for a channel. Additionally, the notifications can be displayed on the Teams app’s feed.

Slack, the most popular messaging service in the business world, is now in direct competition with Microsoft’s Teams,

its fastest-growing business in the company’s history.

In the course of COVID-19, remote work has become increasingly necessary, and Microsoft Teams has emerged as a platform that provides easy-to-use collaborating tools that enable remote teams to work together efficiently and effectively as one team.

The Microsoft Teams application has a variety of features that help seamless collaboration between teams member as well as notifications related to any activity that takes place in a team’s workspace.

Teams has all of your workspace within its virtual boundaries, so getting notifications of any activity is imperative so that you do not miss anything important.

In Teams, you can display your notifications in a number of different ways. We will focus on banner notifications in this post.

Which is the banner in Teams?

It is possible to add a banner message to Microsoft Teams‘ channel pages so that team members can be reminded of important information, announcements, or reminders.

It is a customized message that can be added to a team’s channel page. Whenever the team needs to be reminded about an event, a deadline, a project milestone, or any other important information, a banner can be displayed at the top of the channel.

It can contain text, links, images, or even animated GIFs. Team banners are a valuable tool for teams to stay informed and engaged, and the team owner or administrator can update or remove them at any time to keep the team members informed and engaged.

Banner Notifications in Microsoft Teams

It is possible to get notifications from Microsoft Teams on your desktop in two ways. One way is to receive notifications via a “Banner.”

Banners are large pop-ups that appear at the bottom right or top right corner of your desktop computer screen (Windows or Mac).

Upon receiving a message from someone, this pop-up notification will appear on your screen.

Upon receiving a message from someone and mentioning you, or liking or reacting to your message in a one-to-one or group/team chat, this banner notification can help you answer right away.

There will always be a preview of the message on the banner, and you will even be able to reply right from the banner. #Banner Notifications in Microsoft Teams

What Is Feed Notification?

This is what is known as feed notifications, and are notifications that appear in the Teams app under the activity bell icon at the top left corner of the screen.

There are some advantages to these notifications over banners, such as the fact that they are non-intrusive, less distracting and less intrusive.

However, the drawback to these is that they are easily overlooked, which can lead to trouble if it is a problematic issue.

Using a collaboration tool like Microsoft Teams is a great way for your employees, clients, business partners, and other teams to communicate remotely and in a more secure environment while collaborating with others.

Keeping abreast of the latest information is one of the best ways to manage a team.

You need to receive notifications of relevant information that comes your way so that you can take the appropriate action whenever necessary.

As a result, a banner notification is often used to highlight any notification, enabling you to see it as a priority if you feel it is important.
