Google’s Nest line of smart home devices, both of which are developed by Google, and Apple’s HomeKit framework for home automation, both of which are developed by Apple.

Currently, Nest devices do not natively support Apple’s HomeKit framework, which means that Nest devices cannot be connected to HomeKit. # Nest Homekit setup code

However, there are third-party products available that can bridge the gap between Nest and HomeKit, allowing users to integrate Nest devices with HomeKit devices in a seamless manner.

There is usually a bridge device used in these products that enables the two systems to communicate with each other, translating commands between the two systems in order to allow them to work together.

It may be necessary to look into purchasing a third-party solution if you want to be able to use Nest devices with HomeKit. # How to Connect Nest Thermostat With HomeKit? # Nest Homekit setup code

As far as Google Home is concerned, it does not natively support HomeKit. As a result, the two systems are not directly compatible, and will not work together without using third-party products.

HomeKit is the framework for automating your home, whereas Google Home is a line of smart speakers developed by Google.

The Google Home and HomeKit systems are not directly connected, but there are some third-party products available that can bridge the gap between the two, allowing users to control HomeKit devices using Google Home commands.

It is common for these products to use a bridge device to connect with both Google Home and HomeKit systems, translating commands between them, allowing them to work together more effectively.

In addition, users are able to control HomeKit devices, regardless of whether they are using a smart speaker or not, by using Apple’s Home app on an iOS device, or by using Apple’s Home app on a Mac.

Users can use the Home app to automate a variety of actions, such as putting the lights off when they leave the house or adjusting the temperature when they return to it. # Does Homekit work with google home

How Does Nest Work With HomeKit

A new smart home device will likely already be equipped with Matter since it was only released this fall, but it will take some time before updates roll out across home products.

If you’re buying a new smart home device, there’s a very high chance it already does. As a result, if you still have old models of these devices, like the Google Nest Doorbell (formerly the Nest Hello), you only need to wait for their firmware to be updated.

At the moment, the best way to connect a Google Nest device to Apple HomeKit is to use a bridge tool, such as the Starling Home Hub: Nest HomeKit Integration, which can bridge the gap between the two.

Your Apple Watch, iPad, and iPhone can be connected to the Nest Thermostat, Nest Protect, Nest Hello, Nest Secure, and other Nest devices through this home automation device.

This is a plug-and-play solution, so you just need to connect the hub to the internet network of your home that all your devices use, and you can use Siri Commands to control Nest settings as well as connect Google Nest speakers to AirPlay.

Using the Nest app, you can install the Nest app on your iPhone and manage your Nest devices from there with no additional steps required. Once the Nest App is installed on your iPhone, you can receive Nest notifications instantly on your Apple device.

Conclusion

With the Starling Home Hub, integrating Nest Secure with HomeKit is made as easy as it can possibly be and the most effortless way possible.

It is now possible to control any of my Nest devices anywhere in the world from my iPhone, which is a great feature for me.

My favorite feature of Nest has to be the ability to automate all of my Nest Devices to work in sync with each other; such as getting my Nest Camera and Nest Secure to work together, adjusting the temperature of my Nest Thermostat based on the weather, just to name a few.

  1. Yeah, this doesn’t work at all. I couldn’t find the “works with nest” option in my settings on the nest app, nor could I find anything which said “integration” in the nest app.
