Does TikTok Notify When You Save a Video? TikTok is unquestionably one of the most popular social media platforms, where creativity thrives and trends emerge at lightning speed in an ever-evolving world.
When users explore TikTok’s many features, they often wonder if creators are notified when their videos are saved or not.
The goal of this blog is to explore the intriguing aspect of TikTok’s functionality, exploring if your actions as a viewer or content consumer lead to notifications, and shed light on what you can expect as far as privacy is concerned.
Whether TikTok notifies others when you save their videos is not known, as there is no way for TikTok users to learn when someone saves their videos.
When TikTok starts notifying Influencers who saved their videos, their inboxes may be flooded with a large number of messages because people are downloading their posts.
Furthermore, I will answer some other questions about TikTok users later in this article, so make sure to read the entire article. # Does TikTok Notify When You Save a Video?
Does TikTok Notify When You Save a Video?
There are no notifications sent to users when someone downloads their videos on TikTok.
In other words, even if you download someone else’s video or someone else does, you won’t be notified of the activity by TikTok.
The option of downloading the video (if enabled) could cause a flood in the notification page for influencers with a massive viewer base, even after considering likes and comments.
You save videos to your device for future viewing, of course, but you might also share them with friends over a social app. # Does TikTok Notify When You Save a Video?
As already mentioned, this feature is grossly exploited by uploaders who use other creators’ content for their own gain.
Video download sites like savett.cc allow you to download a video without any watermark, despite the fact that the videos downloaded through the app come with watermarks so you can trace back to the creator.
Does TikTok Notify For Screen Recordings?
There are some videos on TikTok that you can’t save. If you’ve tried it, you’ve probably noticed this.
The settings on TikTok allow creators to prevent their TikToks from being downloaded by viewers.
In any case, even if downloads are disabled, anyone can still record their screen using the phone’s built-in feature.
Consequently, it is a good alternative to downloading a video without being able to download it. # Does TikTok Notify For Screen Recordings
What are the risks? We already know that apps can tell if you’re screen recording – some companies like Snapchat even notify other people when a recording has taken place.
But does TikTok have a similar feature? Will you know if you’re recording their TikToks?
In order to test this out, I disabled downloads on my TikTok account, then logged into another account on another device.
I then screen recorded all of my TikToks using the iPhone’s screen recording feature. # Does TikTok Notify For Screen Recordings

Why can’t I download a TikTok video?
In this case, the person who has made the video will turn off the sharing feature to prevent this from happening.
If you’re a TikTok creator looking for ways to turn off the sharing feature, here are some simple steps you can take:
- On TikTok, click the ‘me’ button in the bottom right corner.
- At the bottom right of the screen, tap the three-dot icon, then select Navigate.
- To finish, choose privacy > to allow and choose whether to enable download settings.
Despite its delicate balance between user engagement and content protection, TikTok maintains a delicate balance with its notifications and privacy settings.
TikTok does not send creators notifications when a video is saved, so respecting intellectual property and privacy is critical.
By acknowledging creators’ work through likes, comments, or shares, you are showing your appreciation for their hard work.
We need to stay informed of TikTok’s terms of service and community guidelines as it continues to evolve and refine its features.
Continuing to enjoy TikTok and contributing to a respectful and positive TikTok community requires understanding the platform’s operation and respecting the creative efforts of its users.
